T-shirt Sparkle

I know, January is almost over but do you want to see what I got for Christmas?

I have wanted a heat press for a long time. Every year I get roped into making t-shirts or hoodies for camps and other youth activities.
Plus I just love doing Heat Transfer Vinyl and although you can do it with an iron, it takes a lot more time, so sweet hubby bought me one this year..

AND I LOVE IT!!!!

Here is my very first project

It was so easy to do.

First I found the perfect saying, already created in the Silhouette Store.
Next I sized it to fit my shirt and then mirrored the image.

Ungroup so the words and the stars can be cut separately.

I know its hard to tell but the word Sparkle and two of the big stars are cut from Glitter HTV and the rest of the words and stars are cut from silver HTV

After the HTV is weeded you place it face down on the shirt.
With the heat press, choose a setting on 315 degrees and medium pressure
Press for 18 seconds.
That's all there is to it!!!

So easy, so cute and EVERY TIME I wear my shirt, I get complements.

I am sure I will be making a lot more.
I will put a tutorial together if anyone is interested.

Heat Transfer Vinyl is AMAZING!

Little Boy Onsies

Have you tried Fabric Transfers with your SVG Files yet?
Today it is my turn over at SVG Attic Blog
It is so easy to create a custom T-shirt!
In fact I made 3 Onsies for my little grandson in almost no time at all.

Let me show you how easy it is...

First pick a card from SVG Attic.
For the Dinosaur tshirt I used the birthday card from JGW Dino Party Kit

JGW Dino Party Kit

I am using Silhouette Design Studio but you can also use Cricut Design Space as well

1. Open up the Dino Birthday card
2. Ungroup and delete the words and all the card pieces

3. Fill all the pieces you are going to use with color

4. Layer the pieces (you may have to arrange some of them so they are front to back)
5. Select all the pieces and group together.
6. resize if needed.
7. Turn off the line color
8. Create an offset of .125"
9. Mirror the image- I forgot to do it on the dinosaur and it was ok but if you have any words make sure you do it!

(I missed taking pictures of the next couple of steps with the dinosaur but I will show you with this one)

10. Turn on your Registration marks
11. Print to the front side of  Fabric Transfer *Do not use the Tshirt Transfer Setting on your printer if you have it- it will flip the image and your registration marks will not line up.
12. Cut by using Advanced> Cut by line Color and selecting only the red (outline)

13. Weed out the negative spaces

14. Prep the shirt by pressing it for a few seconds to warm up.
15. Place the Transfer Material face down on the tshirt
16. Follow directions on the back of the package, use an iron or a heat press to apply the transfer
17. When it has cooled down remove the paper backing.

Now you have a fun shirt to share with someone special (or make one for yourself)

Here is a up close look of the  other two Onsies I did.

use the cards from the JGW Work Zone

I hope you will give this a try, but fair warning...Its addicting!

The Love Train

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for.
I love pink and red.
I love hearts.
I love Chocolate.

Its the best!

Today, on this  cold and snowy day, I thought I would pull out my Cricut Explore and make a new project. I decided to make this Valentine train  just because its so cute and I think my grandson will love it.

I used a file from My Scrap Chick , the 3D Train Set, and some older paper I had on hand.
I added hearts to the wheels to match the paper.

If you make the full train there are a lot of pieces but it isn't difficult, in fact it goes together pretty quickly.

To complete the project, I filled the 2 box cars with some Hershey Kisses.

I think the little ones are going to love both the candy and the train so it is a win win for me!

If you are looking for a fun project this week give this train set a try.

Chalkboard Signs

Wedding, wedding, wedding.

That's pretty much all that has been on my mind the last few weeks.

My Daughter Rachel is about to get married and I am very excited for her.  We LOVE her fiancee and can't wait for him to join our family.

I will post pictures of the reception later, but because sometimes it is hard to get the light right I wanted to share some things I have been working on.

Its been a bit of a challenge with the reception, Rachel wants elegant and traditional and Logan prefers simple and modern; one thing they both agreed upon was they liked the Chalkboard look.

I found some simple chalkboard signs at Walmart and chalkboard place settings at Target.

With the help of my Cameo and some white vinyl, I was able to create a few things for the tables.

This is for the brownie table.  I get hungry just thinking about those yummy treats!

There will also be Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Hershey Kisses wrapped is Silver and Purple
(you can buy bulk kisses at Amazon)

At the book table, although they are not doing the traditional book.
( I will show that later)

And a fun way to send them off!

The best part about these signs is by using removable vinyl, I can reuse them again in April when Megyn gets married!

(yep- two weddings in 4 months- heaven help us)

Wedding Shadow Box

Today is my turn to post for SVG Attic.

My daughter is getting married this weekend and I have been crazy busy working on projects for the Wedding so I decided to share the Shadow Box I created.

This was a fast and easy project. It will be used as part of the decor at the reception and afterwards she can take it home.

To get started, I bought a 12 x 12 Shadow Box found at Micheal's.
They also had some of this grey cardstock with silver foil.
Silver is her accent color so it was perfect.

Place the paper inside the shadow box then closed it up.

Next I used the W Split Monogram from SVG Attic.

Resize the monogram  to fit the shadow box.
Next, add the names and the date in the split area using two different fonts already downloaded to your computer.

Once everything is lined up and the way you want it, cut from vinyl.

Apply the vinyl to the front of the shadow box.

If you are looking for a fast but beautiful gift, try creating your own shadow box.
SVG Attic has 3 different styles of Split Monograms, perfect for whatever project you are working on.

Give it a try.
