Hats and Headbands

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas!  We sure did, one more holiday weekend and then its time to get back to work.

If you are wondering when new kits are coming out, all I can say is soon.  I was up late last night designing two new winter and 4 valentine kits.  Keep checking as I will be posting soon.

In the meantime...
We (meaning my girls and I) have been doing lots of crafts and I thought I would share.

Hats

For my son's Eagle project, he put together 120 Christmas Stockings for underprivileged children. One of the items in the stockings were hats.  A lot of knitted and store bought hats were donated but we also made a lot from fleece.   They were so easy and turned out so cute that I made some for all the kids
. Here is a link for the pattern.  They are super easy and work up so fast.  (did I mention, they were easy?)

Here is the finished hat, cute hu?

Next I used my Big Shot and the Sizzix Circle Die and cut out four circles from the fleece.  I added a pretty pearl button and stitched the flower together. I made three flowers for each hat.

I then sewed each flower to the brim of the hat on the right side.

I did them in cream, purple and yellow.  Each one of my daughters received one for Christmas and they were a huge hit!
(don't look at my nasty table, lots of projects have been done on this table!)

Headbands
For Christmas D1 and D4 each received a sewing machine.  I found another super cute and easy pattern for headbands here.

The three of us spent the day making them.

Does the flower look familiar?  I once again used the Big Shot and the Circle Die, this time cutting circles from the cream fleece and the brown fabric. I sewed the flower to a pin so that I could wear the headband with the flower or alone.

The nice thing about these headbands is the hidden elastic that keeps it fitting snugly (but not tight) on your head.

For the flower on this headband I used my Stampin' up Flower die.  (Love it!!! so worth the price!)

Here are just a few of the headbands we did. When all was done and said the 3 of us finished thirteen headbands in one afternoon.

Don't you think these will make great birthday gifts for all those girly parties they get invited too?

I hope you all have a wonderful new year.  Party wisely.
Keep checking the blog as I will be posting other crafts and soon some new kits.
