Design Team Projects - Bazzill Layout

I am sooo excited.
I have been asked to be on the Design Team for Heartfelt Creations

My first assignment was to create something with the new Bazzil product.
Bazzil has always been one of my favorite papers to work with but it was usually limited to cardstock and a few embellishments.  Not anymore.  The new line Jaybird Street Collection, has so much to offer.  I loved the bright colors and fun embellishments and if you haven't tried the Perfectly Pleated edges you are missing out!

Look at everything I was able to put together with 4 sheets of printed paper from the Jaybird Street Collection, 1 sheet of die cuts, I package of Resin Flowers (my new favorite embellishment), and one package of perfectly pleated.
1 2-page Layout
2 cards
1 tag
1 mini album
and 2 fabric flowers.

Lets get started with the layout.  I loved this line's bright and bold colors. Because I like to keep the focus of my layouts on the photos and not on all the "fluff", I used small strips of paper to bring the color in but not overwhelm the overall look.

If you look close you will see the Perfectly Pleated Paper on the side of the right page and on the bottom of the left page.  I added one of the die cuts to a square of pink cardstock.  The only other embellishment I used was the 3D flowers.

To make the 3d flowers, start with1 circle and  4 scalloped circles of cardstock (I used a paper punch or you could cut them by hand.)
Take the 4 scalloped circles and fold each one in half and then in half again. Add a drop of glue in the center each time you fold it.  (I used my glue gun)  Leave the plain circle alone-it will be your base.

Bend the "petals" up of each circle by holding the bottom and turning up the ends. Do one layer at a time.

Glue the circle to the middle of the base circle. Do this for each petal.

Cut another smaller circle and glue it to the middle of your flower,  Walla! a fancy 3D flower.

Make four flowers.  I used the new Resin flowers for the center of each of my 3D flowers.  They come with a foam glue dot pre attached.

To make the leaves for each flower, simply punch out a small heart and lay it under the flower with the corner poking out.

The Mini Album was next and I used all the same techniques.

This time cut the 3D flowers out of some of the printed paper. Use one of the Die Cuts.  Put the Perfectly pleated at an angle on the corner and tie the whole thing closed with a ribbon.Pretty easy.

Once again, I kept things pretty simple so as not to over power the photos.  Be sure to add your journaling also.

With the left over pieces I made 2 cards and a tag.  They went together pretty fast.
For this card I used my Sizzix Embossing Template. (another new favorite), ribbon and a strip of paper.
This card was made using the last Die Cut, and the Perfectly pleated.  I trimmed down the Perfectly Pleated and used my Scalloped scissors on the bottom. I made a knot out of paper and added a button.

The tag was super easy to do just a couple of scrap pieces of paper and a greeting typed on my computer (or you could stamp it)

Sorry- super blurry photo!
