While I was picking up D1 from school last month, I found this fun store Porters. I had been thinking of doing some quilted purses and I picked up a pattern for these.

They went together pretty fast and it wasn't to difficult. I don't sew as much as I used to but I do enjoy doing it every now and then. What do you think, would they make good Christmas gifts?

Now I am back to the painting table. I have some fun Summer Kits I am putting together. As soon as I get them done I will post some photos.

Seeing Stars

The other day, while working on kits, D5 wanted to "help". I had some wood stars I had cut out so I let her paint them. Last night, after some sanding and paper, this is what we did with them.

We used leftover scraps of paper from the firecracker kits and I cut vinyl words using my silhouette.

The pictures are really bad but I like how the stars turned out, they look nice setting on my shelf.

Mod Podge Tips

I use Mod Podge alot. It works great with the wood and paper projects. I also have people ask me lots of questions about it.

I found this great little tutorial and thought I would share it with you. Is from The Hybrid Chick. They have lots of good ideas and tips so be sure to check them out.

Card Idea from Page Maps

I was looking for some ideas for our group next month. I don't know if I will use this one or not but I loved it and thought I would share. The flower is done with the Silhouette and I think the scalloped boarder is too.

If you are looking for some ideas, check out Pagemaps. I love them!

A lot of this information can be found on the Silhouette Website.

Good luck and I hope you find some time to play!

New Layout

I haven't had much time to do a lot of playing this week. The kids are out of school and we have spent time at the park and just hanging out. I also have designed some summer projects and have Hubby busy cutting wood right now so I hope you will check them out when they are on the blog.

I finished up my classes at Heartland this past week. I am going to miss all the wonderful ladies I got to know there. I hope you will still keep in touch.

Here is a layout I did a couple of weeks ago using my Silhouette. I thought I would share the idea because I know a lot of you are celebrating(?) the last day of school also.

I am trying to put together a couple of groups to get together and do a craft night. If anyone is interested please let me know.

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

My New Apron

For Christmas this past year (can you believe we are half way through June already?) I made aprons for some of my friends and family. I cut one out for myself but I never got it started. Yesterday I got out my sewing machine and sewed my apron.

I am very happy with it and if was fun to do some sewing again. I think I am going to try some purses next.

School Mini Album

My Daughter wanted a Year Book like her older sisters got so I made one for her.
I kept it really simple and left places for her photos and to write some of her own memories, not to mention lots of places for autographs from her friends. I figured when she has one of those days when she is bored,(probably by Monday,) she can add her own photos, memories and embellishments.

I only included a few photos but I hope it gives you some ideas. The paper is Die Cuts With A View.
